Remember Shortcuts

WELS uses a Mode box in the bottom left corner of the Design Screen to enable access to major Move/Rotate/etc. functions.

There are numerous Shortcuts available to speed your work without changing Modes. The easiest way to view/remember them is to:

1. Ensure View/Shortcuts is checked.

NOTE: You can reposition the Shortcuts window by dragging it, or hide it until it's needed using View/Minimize when Inactive.

Faster Part Selection

WELS displays the active Catalog Section, Category, and Part in the combo boxes across the top of the Design Screen.

WELS provides quick access to the active set of parts:

1. Verify that View/Right Click Part Selection is checked.

2. Right-Click on the Design Screen:

   • A popup menu lists the active parts - with the selected part checked
   • Select a new part
   • To clear the popup menu without making a selection, press the Escape key

How do I insert a saved WELS design into another design?

1. Create/Open the first design - adding parts as needed.

2. Load the design you want to insert (2nd design) into the copy/paste buffer:

   • Select File/Open to display the Open File dialog box
   • Change the File of Type combo box to: WELS Insert File
   • Change the directory as needed
   • Select the WELS file you want to insert

   NOTE: The Insert Design is now IN the copy/paste buffer.

3. To paste the Insert Design as a free-standing console:

   • Ctrl-Right-Click on the Design Screen
   • Select Paste from the popup menu
   • The design will be pasted at the original Ctrl-Right-Click location

   NOTE: You can repeat the Paste operation as many times as desired until the next Copy or Insert operation.

4. To paste the Insert Design onto another part:

   • Ctrl-Right-Click on a part
   • Select Paste from the popup menu
   • The design will be attached to the click-on part

   NOTE: The 1st part in the Insert Design must be able to attach to the part you click-on.

   NOTE: You can repeat the Paste operation as many times as desired until the next Copy or Insert operation.
